  1. That sounds depressive. And very much to my taste. It would almost make me like Hemingway. But this is never going to happen. Macho writers is what I can’t stand.

    1. One of my favorite Hemingway quotes. It is very depressing, but sadly, also very true! 😮

I read somewhere that Hemingway was macho, although I can’t say the same,as I’ve read only one book from him, namely A Farewell to Arms.In what sense is he exactly macho?

      1. Hemingway emphasises masculine values: honour, valour, bravado; and he puts emphasis on predominantly male activities like fishing, bull fighting, box. None of these subjects appeal to me. Plus, he’s notorious for writing unfavourably about women. Finally, I’m not a fan of his minimalist style. Add this all up, and it’s clear why he won’t ever be my favourite! This is to explain my attitude, not to spoil your reading pleasure though!!

Tell me what you think! :)
